YOUNG COMPANY
Our Young Company for years 11-13 is our advanced drama rehearsals class for all abilities. All classes are ran as rehearsals, working towards a production on a professional stage. The classes provide an in-depth, professional and imaginative way to approach scripts, exploring everything theatre has to offer from musicals to comedy to drama.
The weekly rehearsals explore a wide range of plays and musicals throughout the year, with the class taking to the stage twice a year.
We know at this age school workload is heavy and exams finish off the year, so our production schedule allows you to work around these, allowing you to remain stress free, whilst forgetting the joys of revision for an hour and a half a week!
Throughout the years you will perform a range of different shows from plays to musicals to devised pieces.
This term we are in rehearsals for our National Theatre Connections production, ahead of performing this at both the cornerHOUSE and Southwark Playhouse in Spring 2024.
Please note due to this being a performance company, the tree trial must take place in the first 3 weeks of term and we require full commitment to sessions to ensure that production deadlines can be met.
Our next Young Company production is 'Kiss/Marry/Push Off Cliff' as part of the National Theatre Connections Festival taking place in March 2024 at the cornerHOUSE, and then performed again at the Southwark Playhouse in April.
From the very first workshop audition, throughout the rehearsal process our Young Company will work with our professional production team, creating challenging and inspiring pieces of theatre, as part of a collaborative rehearsal process.
Our Young Company will perform one full scale production a year in February/March time, and a smaller piece working around exams at the end of the academic year.
Past productions have included the hit musical, 'Godspell', and incredible plays 'Brainstorm', 'Girls Like That' and 'Red'!
