Young Company

Year 11 to Year 13 (Ages 15-18)

Tuesdays & Thursdays 7:30-9pm

 

 

Our Young Company is an advanced rehearsal-based class for students in Years 11 to 13, welcoming all abilities. Each session focuses on preparing a production for performance on a professional stage. These classes offer an in-depth, professional, and creative approach to theatre, exploring a wide range of styles , from musicals and comedy to drama.

 

Our weekly rehearsals cover a diverse range of plays and musicals throughout the year, with the class performing on stage twice annually. 

 

We understand that school workload can be heavy at this age, especially with exams at the end of the year. That’s why our production schedule is designed to fit around your academic commitments, helping you stay stress-free while enjoying a fun, creative break from revision for an hour and a half each week.

Over the years, you’ll have the opportunity to perform a variety of productions - from classic plays and musicals to innovative devised pieces.

This term our Young Company's are preparing for their End of Term Showcase at the cornerHOUSE: a spectacular set of evenings featuring musical performances, stunning scenes and epic solos.

Next Productions

Our next Young Company production will be 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time' with rehearsals commencing from September in both our Tuesday and Thursday groups, ahead of shows in March at the cornerHOUSE. During the Summer Term 2026, our Young Company's are working on a musical theatre showcase, 'Encore!' working around exams.

From the very first workshop audition, throughout the rehearsal process our Young Company will work with our professional production team, creating challenging and inspiring pieces of theatre, as part of a collaborative rehearsal process. 

Each Young Company group perform one full scale production a year in February/March time, and a smaller piece working around exams at the end of the academic year.

Past productions have included the hit musicals, 'The Addams Family' & 'Godspell', and incredible plays 'Jekyll & Hyde', 'Brainstorm' and 'Girls Like That'!
