For all our Weekly Academy classes we offer a free trial session which can be selected through our online booking form. This allows your son/daughter to try out the class before committing for the term.
After your trial you will be sent an email for how to confirm your place for the remainder of term if you would like to continue!
If you feel you still need another weeks trial please let us know and we will try to do our best to accommodate this.
You can find out more information here.
As part of our classes you will star in full-scale shows, performed for friends and family on a professional stage once a year. Classes perform a mixture of plays and musicals throughout the age groups with full costume, lights, set and a band. Our 7-11's, 11-15's and 15-18's shows currently take place at the cornerHOUSE in Surbiton. Alongside this every term, when not working towards a production, classes will culminate in an End of Term Performance for friends and family.
Past productions have included Matilda JR, Legally Blonde JR, Brainstorm, Alice in Wonderland and Bugsy Malone!
We want everyone to be able to express themselves freely and wear what they feel most comfortable. However, we do request that students wear appropriate clothing to move around in safely. This means please refrain from wearing shoes with wheels, flip flops or sandals. We have optional official South Side Theatre T-Shirts and hoodies available before and after every class and also available to order online.
Apart from a labelled water bottle and your script if you're working on a show, just your wonderful self!
The costs of our classes vary depending on the length of the lesson. Our 7-18 year old's classes run at 1hr 30mins and cost £132 per term, and our 4-7 year old's classes run for an hour and cost £108 per term. We do also offer a number of subsidised places for all our classes and projects if cost is an issue. Please email us if you would like more details on this. To pay please visit our pay for your class page where you can set up a direct debit via GoCardless to pay termly.
Yes, all students will need to provide lunch, snacks and a water bottle please for each day of your holiday project. Due to allergies within groups and the church being a nut-free church we ask you to ensure no food containing nuts is packed in lunches.
Students will also need to provide a refilable water bottle, which we can re-fill on site.
For any specific allergies in the group, we will email these out. No food is provided from ourselves.
Yes, we do! For every sibling you will receive £15 off your total class fees each term.
If you cannot make a South Side class for whatever reason please inform us via email so we can plan the sessions accordingly. We do recommend if possible attending every class as very often in classes we will be working towards a final performance.
To withdraw at the end of a term, written notice must be provided before the end of the preceding half term. This allows us to plan appropriately, especially for productions. If notice is not given by this time, full class fees for the following term will still be due. We do not offer the option to leave mid-term. Example: To leave at the end of the Summer Term, notice must be given by the end of the May half term.
For all private tuition, a full terms notice in writing must be given to cancel classes due to the nature of the 1-2-1 set-up.
If your class is working on a production, students are expected to complete the full rehearsal and performance process once committed. Therefore, you are still liable to cover full fees until the end of the production process.
