What ages do South Side run classes and holiday projects for?
South Side's Weekly Academy runs from the ages of 4 all the way up to 15, over 3 age groups. Our Holiday Projects currently are only for ages 7-11. But we are hoping to add further age group holiday projects in 2020.
Am I able to have a free trial before booking a class?
For all our Weekly Academy classes we offer a 2 week free trial which can be selected through our online booking form. This allows your son/daughter to try out the class before committing for the term.

What are the costs for the Weekly Academy classes and how can I pay?
The costs of our classes vary depending on the length of the lesson. Our 7-15 year old's classes run at 1hr 30mins and cost £100 per term, and our 4-7 year old's classes run for an hour and cost £85 per term. We do also offer a number of subsidised places for all our classes and projects if cost is an issue. Please email us if you would like more details on this. To pay please visit our pay for your class page where you can either pay online, via cheque or bank transfer.
What should we wear to South Side?
At South Side we don't have a strict uniform code, but do request that children wear appropriate clothing to move around in safely. This means please refrain from wearing shoes with wheels, flip flops or sandals. We have official South Side Theatre T-Shirts available before and after every class and also available to order online.
When do our Classes and Holiday Projects run?
Our Weekly Academy classes run every Tuesday at Hook Church in Surbiton. We currently have 3 classes running at different times with you youngest class starting at 4pm and our oldest class finishing at 8pm. You can find exact timings on our Weekly Academy pages. We currently also run 2 holiday projects throughout the year during the Easter and Summer Holidays. You can find further details on our Holiday Projects page. We plan to add more classes and projects over the next few years.
If we cannot make a class what should we do?
If you cannot make a South Side class for whatever reason please inform us via email so we can plan the sessions accordingly. We do recommend if possible attending every class as very often in classes we will be working towards a final performance.
When will my class do a production?
Each of our classes produces one show a year which will be performed for friends and family. Classes perform a mixture and plays and musicals throughout the years with full costume, lights and band. Our 7-11's and 11-15's shows currently take place at the cornerHOUSE in Surbiton. Alongside this every term when you're not working towards a production will culminate in an End of Term Presentation for friends and family.
How much notice should I give should I decide to leave South Side?
We ask to be notified at the earliest possible point, ideally at the end of the previous term, which allows us to plan ahead and invite people of our waiting list for next term. Please notify us either via email or in person.
