A DAY AT THE JUNIOR THEATRE FESTIVAL

Following our unforgettable trip to the Junior Theatre Festival on Saturday 21st May, we caught up with two of our members, Heidi and Ava, about their time at the festival!

Tell us about what you did on the Junior Theatre Festival trip.

Heidi: It was a really busy day. We watched other performances, we performed a part of Oliver, did workshops and went to the awards ceremony. It was amazing!

Ava: We had an opening ceremony and found out roughly what we were going to do throughout the day. We then went on to the adjudication and performed Oliver! the musical, went to our workshops and finished the day by going to the awards ceremony. It was brilliant!

What was your favourite part of the trip?

Heidi: I loved everything but I liked the Awards Ceremony best. We even got ton see Rachel John perform!

Ava: Probably the awards ceremony, but everything was great!

What was the funniest moment of the trip?

Heidi: The funniest part of the day was when we went to the acting workshop. We had to talk about times where we were angry and some of the stories were really funny.

Ava: The acting workshop. We had some very dramatic moments there!

Would you recommend this trip to other South Siders?

Heidi: Absolutely it’s amazing and you get loads of inspiration.

Ava: Definitely! It’s the trip of a lifetime and you can learn so much from it.

We plan to return to the Junior Theatre Festival next year. If you'd like to join us please save the dates, Friday 28th-Saturday 29th April 2022. We will have more details in class over the coming months!
