Safeguarding

The safeguarding of all participants in the 'Virtual Academy' is vitally important to us. As a company we have been in consultation with our Safeguarding Officer from 'Achieveing for Children' and have set out the following guidelines.

As a service provider we have a duty of care for all our participants. However we do request that at least 1 parent or guardian are at home for the safety and wellbeing of their children.

Our Agreement:

1. All the teachers for the 'online classes' are regular South Side teachers and have enhanced DBS checks. We also hold 'Public Liability Insurance' to cover the classes. 

2. South Side promises to always have at least 2 members of the team online during a class. One of these members will be monitoring the Zoom Class, whilst the other teaches. Ensuring guidelines are striclty adhered to. 

3. To ensure all participants safety all children will be held in a waiting room prior to the class and then a member of the South Side team will admit each particpant booked on. 

4. All 'online class' leaders understand and agree to our Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct. 

5. Zoom Classes are password protected. The link for classes will be sent out to all participants via email on the morning of the class. 

6. All particpants camera's will be muted, unless asking a question or performing back.

7. A register will be kept of all particpants each week. 

8. Zoom sessions will be recorded for advertising purposes. This will be kept secure by South Side and not distributed for any other purposes. 

9. Participants will be able to chat with the Academy leaders during the class via private chat. The public chat will be closed.

Your Agreement:

By booking onto our 'Online Classes and Workshops' you agree to the following:

1. You agree to ensure for all classes at least 1 parent or guardian is present for the safety and wellbeing of your child(ren).

2. You agree to not share the Zoom link with anyone else to ensure safeguarding and confidentiality procedures are followed.

3. You agree to complete the booking form with the correct information to allow us to contact you with details of the 'online classes'. 

4. You give consent for photos and videos of the classes to be used for advertising purposes. These will only be shared on the South Side social media pages and the website. 

 

Logging onto your Class

​

To log onto your class please follow these simple steps:

1. Download Zoom Cloud onto your device. A computer or laptop is recommended, but a tablet or phone will work just as well. Your device requires having a webcam. 

2. Click the link emailed to you on the morning of the class (check your spam) or input the meeting ID and password.

3. There is nothing else for you to do, just enjoy the class!
