Les Misérables: School Edition features one of the most memorable scores of all time and some of the most memorable characters to ever grace your stage! Winner of over 100 international awards and seen by over 65 million people worldwide, Les Misérables is an epic and uplifting story about the survival of the human spirit.

In 19th century France, Jean Valjean is released from years of unjust imprisonment, but finds nothing in store for him but mistrust and mistreatment. He breaks his parole in hopes of starting a new life, initiating a life-long struggle for redemption as he is relentlessly pursued by police inspector Javert, who refuses to believe Valjean can change his ways. Finally, during the Paris student uprising of 1832, Javert must confront his ideals after Valjean spares his life and saves that of the student revolutionary who has captured the heart of Valjean's adopted daughter.

Les Misérables: School Edition is being performed by a cast of 11-18 year olds by audition only, outside of our regular classes. With rehearsals commencing from the end of 2024 on Wednesdays & Fridays (you won't be required for every rehearsal), and auditions on the 9th and 13th October 2024. The opportunity will be open to both current and new students.

Accessibility

The Playhouse is accessible by wheelchair-users and people with restricted mobility, being on a single level with step-free entry from the pavement. When booking tickets please do add access requirements in the seating requests section.

Getting Here

It is best to use public transport to get to the Playhouse. But parking is also available onsite. See full details below.

The nearest train station is Walton-On-Thames which is a 20 minute walk to the theatre.

Buses 461, 555 both stop within a 5 minute walk of the theatre. The 461 comes in from Kingston Town Centre.

There are approximately 20 spaces available outside the theatre, but these are limited and fill up quickly on show days. The Playhouse is approximately 10 minutes from the A3.

Parental Advice

The language and content of this School Edition of Les Misérables have been moderated, and the show shortened, to make it suitable for younger performers and audience members. Nevertheless, there still remain some adult themes. Parental judgment is required.
