Calling all passionate young performers and creatives aged 11-15!
South Side Theatre Academy are on the lookout for 11-15 year olds take part in an unforgettable opportunity performing, directing and designing for our first ever 'Ignite Festival'!
This is an incredible opportunity to work on a series of plays, not just performing, but also opportunities to direct, design costumes and set and produce!
Be a part of our award-winning Weekly Theatre Academy as rehearsals for the Ignite Festival kick off this January in our Senior classes.
To join the cast, book a free trial class in our Monday (6:30-8pm), Tuesday (6-7:30pm) or Thursday (6-7:30pm) Senior classes in Surbiton.
HOW DOES THE IGNITE FESTIVAL WORK?
Within our Seniors classes, students will divide into smaller companies to focus on a play of their choice; whether that’s a piece of new writing, a published script, or an original devised work. Each group will rehearse a 20-minute extract, with students not only taking on acting roles but also stepping into directing and designing. From set and costume to lighting and props, they will shape every creative element of their piece, supported throughout by our professional team of practitioners.
These works will then be showcased across three fantastic evenings in March as part of the Ignite Festival. Across the week, we expect to see an impressive 10–12 plays performed, celebrating the talent, imagination, and hard work of our young theatre-makers.

For the 'Ignite Festival', we have 3 Senior casts all working on different plays, with rehearsals on different days and times:

PRODUCTION DATES
Monday 23rd-Thursday 26th March 2026 (within final classes of term, so cast members will only be needed on their groups day)
