KEEPING YOU SAFE
Safeguarding and health and safety is an essential part of all our teams training before working with any of our Young People. All South Side staff also have valid DBS certificates with class leaders all holding First Aid certificates. South Side is overlooked by our Safeguarding Officer, Bethany Pease from Kingston Social Services (Achieving for Children).

What are we doing to ensure classes are COVID-SAFE?
At South Side we will always put the health and safety of our young members at the centre of everything that we do. We're so excited to be welcoming you back to classes and projects shortly, but we will be welcoming you back with new measures in place to keep you safe!
As a company we have developed a full COVID-19 Risk Assessment following Government advice following the easing of lockdown restrictions. Despite the removal of some guidelines, we are still keeping a few in place to ensure we reduce the risk of our young members and staff becoming unwell with COVID-19. all our team will be briefed on and will be central to the development and planning of all classes and projects. Despite these guidelines we can still guarantee you every single class will still be just as fun and imaginative as before lockdown.
You can relax that your young person will be coming to the safest place possible upon their return!

In classes they will still experience the full range of activities they would usually be doing, including dancing, singing and drama safely. Below are some of the key guidance that we will still be following in our classes to keep your son/daughter safe.
Hand Washing and Hygiene
-
Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the class and children will be encouraged to use it and regularly wash their hands. They will need to use this upon arrival to the venue.
-
Only one young person will be allowed in the toilets at a time.
-
Rehearsal rooms and surfaces will be regualry cleaned down before and after classes.
-
We will be encouraging the 'Catch It, Kill It, Bin It' procedure throughout classes.
COVID-19 Symptoms
-
We are asking all parents, as per government guidelines, to please keep their son/daughter away from class if they are unwell.
-
If symptoms do appear during class, parents will be notified via email/call/message.
-
We will ask staff who test positive to remain at home.
What happens if classes cannot run in-person?
-
If South Side classes are forced to close due to COVID then classes will go virtual. We will sadly be unable to offer any refunds.
-
If you cannot make a class due to choosing to isolate we regret that we cannot offer a refund for the classes you miss.
If you have any questions about our new guidelines then please do get in touch at info@southsidetheatre.com.
